Ligurian Cuisine

Ligurian cuisine is synonymous with fresh seafood, pesto and the local white wine which pairs beautifully with all of the food. You can find swordfish, anchovies, sea bass, calamari, octopus, mussels and more.  Pesto originated in this region of Liguria, which is  where Monterosso is located. The combination of the climate, sea air and sunshine make the basil here just perfect. The local wines complement all of the food you will sample and the fresh focaccia comes in about a dozen varieties.

A Hidden Gem

If you like the idea of feeling like a local in an intimate setting, where you don't have to plan a thing but where to sip a glass of wine at night, then look no further. Caroline, Elizabeth & I have been living in and visiting the Cinque Terre for decades combined & we know the ins & outs, the locals, the ways to avoid crowds at peak times and special places to show you the real life in Italy.  A visit to Cinque Terre with us means getting a very intimate look at life in a small fishing village where you can tailor the trip to your desires...bike along the Riviera, hike the ridges with breathtaking views, learn to make fresh pesto, take in the Cinque Terre coast on a private boat with lunch & swimming.

Activities

This tour is as active or relaxing as you want it to be. We have had guests from 24-84 years. With Caroline, my daughter in her 20's, Elizabeth who is as physically fit as a 30 year old and myself, we have the flexibility to do more challenging hikes with guests who want that and more mild walks, bike rides, shopping, wine tasting, boat cruise. We tailor each tour with input from the guests who come each trip. The small size of our tours allows for flexibility.
